Challenge #86 Designer's Choice - Grunge

Welcome back. This week our challenge has been chosen by our DT member, Sandie , and the theme is Grunge.

Here are some guidelines: Grunge is characterized by distressed, worn-out elements and the use of subtle or earthy colours. Think torn edges, textured backgrounds, 'dirty' appearance, splatters, stains, even hand-drawn lines. That said, grunge doesn't always mean "dirty" or subdued colours. A card can have subtle grunge elements in light or soft ink and yet still look clean and simple. Just think of grunge as theopposite of "polished".

Please welcome our talented Guest Designer:

Hi, I am Ashwini. A software engineer by profession. I started my card making journey is something I discovered just a year ago (yup, I am very very new to card making!!) when my sister pointed me to Pinterest (yeah..even that's new for me!). I saw the many cards there and I got instantly addicted!

For a novice like me, when even winning one of the Inkspirational challenge came as a surprise, being asked to be a Guest Designer came as nothing less than a shock - so, thanks a lot Marina, for providing the great opportunity!! To all the participants - best of luck! This is a great challenge to participate in, and I hope you find fun and inspiration and keep coming back for more!

Here's what the DT have made:

We will be choosing  a top pick/s from this challenge and inviting one entrant to join us as a Guest Designer.

We're sorry that we may not be able to comment on cards that are uploaded to galleries where we have to register to comment (eg Splitcoast Stampers), or where word verification is enabled. When we can view your card, however, we will still consider it for our top picks.

Top Picks #84 - Photo

Current challenge HERE.

Thank you to all those who played along with us in our photo challenge! I can definitely say that our design team was very split on this decision. There was so much talented work shared in our photo inspiration challenge. Here are our top picks:

We were in awe of Sonja's clean design and beautiful flowers. This was a perfect card for our inspiration photo!

This card is very pretty! We really found that the essence of the photo - time to read, to relax, to enjoy beautiful surroundings - is conveyed wonderfully.

We just love Karen's unique design! The softness of the flowers is really bought out by boldness of black background squares.

Congratulations to our top picks!

Challenge #85 Word Prompt - Wild

Welcome back to Inkspirational. This week we have a word prompt - WILD - and a wonderful guest designer:

Hi everyone. I am very excited to be guest designing at Inkspirational! My blog is called My Paper Epiphany and I live in Melbourne, Australia. I'm on the design team of the Mixed Media Card Challenge.
I've been stamping and making cards on and off for about 17 years. It became a real passion when I discovered all the online blogs and challenges and decided to join in the fun. I love the online paper crafting community - it is so wonderful to be able to get inspiration, share my 'art'  with like minded people and get so much encouragement.
I spent a while trying to discover my 'own style' and then eventually decided I should embrace the diverse nature of my creativity. I love playing with all media and get excited when I discover something new to play with. I love CAS, watercolour, Mixed Media, collage, vintage and so on .....

I hope you'll visit Jenny's blog  and leave her a comment.
